DOUGLAS SCHOLES

Installation no. 3 – May 22 – 28, 2011

Installation no.1 : October 20 – 26, 2010
Installation no.2 : February 13 – 19, 2011

The installation consisted of a poster divided into four sections, one section for each season, and a map of the city of Granby.  The poster images were created as a mosaic using images from each of the periods to create the overall image.  The map was used to plot my daily progress during this the last period of work

As a final gesture, the 3e impérial and I planned a vernissage for all the city employees.  It was held on Thursday, May 26th, starting at 4:30 pm, a half hour before the official end of the shift.  After a year of working on the project and the three weekly occasions that I was at the garage I did manage to develop some recognition from the employees about the project, 3e impérial and me, but I was not entirely sure who and how many employees would turn out for the event.  To my great pleasure there were over 50 employees who attended the celebration.  We had some Hydromel (honey wine) from Les frères miel and I offered the employees to take a wax replica as a thank  you for their patience and acceptance of me and the project.
