Installation no.1 : October 20 – 26, 2010
Installation no. 3 : May 22 – 28, 2011
The imagery for this installation comes from the work I did during the fall period in October 2010. A plan view drawing of the geographic location of the former service station site on the north-west corner of Cowie Street and Robinson Street South was pinned to the wall above a shelf, which held five small piles of dirt that were taken from the five piles of dirt and debris I created when sweeping and shoveling the site. Suspended on the wall, to the left of the plan drawing, was a light box with six watercolour drawings done on translucent paper layered one on top of each other. The drawings were six different views of me in the action from the same view point.
Medium: paper, watercolour, graphite, thread, wood, fluorescent lights, dirt
